Beautiful late-Baroque chateau, situated on the edge of a small historical Czech village just 45 Km Northeast of Prague. The property comprises the chateau on a large garden grounds and an enclosed farmyard with historical barns and buildings. The first record of the property dates back to around 1088; in 1724 the farm yards were purchased by Jan Jáchym Plachta, whose son František Josef began building the chateau in 1744 on the original location of Velkodvorská fort. A large garden with numerous statues from the workshop of Matyas Braun was also created.

In 1860 the side wings were added by architect Jan Josef Wirch. In the axe of the chateau the pavilion was built, and the garden and farmyard were enclosed by a decorative wall. After the fire in 1817, which left only the outside walls and vaulted ground floor remaining, renovations took place employing the late baroque style with some classical components on the facade and in parts of the interior. The chateau’s roof also received a new look.

The current owner is in the process of renovating the façade, and the interiors are being restored using the original plans and authentic materials and techniques. Some of the windows were replaced and in 2006 the chateau’s chapel was renewed. With four hectares of park included, and the possibility to adjoin about 50 hectares and the neighboring farmyard, this property is also suitable as a golf resort.
